Coby White surpasses Pippen on the Bulls all-time three-point list. White is making his mark with the Chicago franchise.

Coby White has certainly gone a long way since the Chicago Bulls selected him as the seventh overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Former UNC Tar Heel achieved a career milestone when he led the Bulls to a 104-91 win on Friday night, where he finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists.

White sank three triples in the victory that enabled him to surpass Scottie Pippen on the Bulls all-time three-point list.

 

A group of elite shooters

Coby moved up to fourth place in the list with 665 made three-pointers. Leading the list is Kirk Hinrich with 1,049. his current teammate, Zach LaVine, is in second place with 978. Ben Gordon is in third place with 770.

White was ecstatic with the achievement.

“It’s a blessing man. I’m blessed to be here. Try not to ever take these moments for granted,” said White.

White has been playing solid as the Bulls starting point guard this season. In the 36 games that he has played so far, Coby is averaging 17. 8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 4.8 assists a game. In the season, he is shooting 44 percent from the field, and 39 percent from three-point land.

Injuries to key players have hounded the Bulls, but they managed to stay afloat behind White’s solid contribution. Chicago is 16-21 so far and will qualify in the Play-In Tournament if the regular season ends today.

White’s best scoring game this season happened on December 11th when he had 33 points in a highly competitive 129-133 overtime loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.
