It’s shocking that at just 24 years of age Luka Doncic approaches LeBron James’ triple-twofold accomplishment.

Mavericks’ Luka Doncic equals LeBron James’ triple-double feat … at only 24 years old.

Luka Doncic has developed a reputation for being a wonder kid who can do it all. He has the acumen to shoot the lights out while also possessing the IQ to be one of the top-floor generals in the league. His big frame allows him to thrive and grab boards at will against much bigger defenders. The Dallas Mavericks star once again showed his capabilities against the Los Angeles Lakers. Despite LeBron James and Anthony Davis’ outings, he still notched a record.

Luka Doncic has now equaled LeBron James for all-time 30-point triple-doubles. The Mavericks star was able to catch on to a still-playing Lakers legend. Being able to be in the same conversation as The King is already great but he stepped it up a notch. He was able to achieve the feat at only 24 years old, per StatMuse.

The Mavericks’ battle with the Lakers.

Doncic was doing his best to claw back into the game. He scored 33 points by knocking down 50% of his 24 field goal attempts. The Mavericks star also dropped 10 dimes to help his teammates heat up. All of this was capped off when he grabbed 13 rebounds. Tim Hardaway Jr., Dereck Lively II, and Kyrie Irving followed suit by combining for 40 points. However, none of this was enough for the Mavericks to get back into the game.

The Lakers started off hot and ran away with it. Doncic and the Mavericks were still in striking distance when the second half commenced. But, everyone on the Lakers was hitting their shots. The third period saw the squad give up 42 points while they only notched 27 of them. James had 25 points along with eight assists and rebounds. Anthony Davis backed him up with 28 points and 12 boards. The Brow was also just one assist short of a triple-double. Then, D’Angelo Russell blazed up and got 29 points of his own.

There will be plenty of opportunities for the Mavericks to get their revenge. However, it just seems like the Lakers really wanted to get above .500 in this game which led to a lot of hunger and hustle plays. It was not their night but they will bounce back.
