Milwaukee Bucks big man Robin Lopez has been around the block quite a bit throughout what has been a colorful 15-year career. This is currently his second stint with the Bucks, which happens to be the 35-year-old’s ninth team in the NBA.

Despite all the experience he’s amassed under his belt, even Lopez was stunned by what he saw from Monday’s showdown between the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks.

Much like Robin Lopez, the Madison Square Garden has pretty much seen it all throughout its decades-long existence. Nevertheless, I can’t really say that a dog sitting courtside during a game is a regular occurrence inside
the Mecca of sports.

For some reason, a couple of Lakers fans sitting courtside decided to bring their dog with them to watch LeBron James and the rest of the squad take on the Knicks. Robin Lopez could not help but comment on the highly unusual sight:

To be fair, it sounds like the dog behaved himself/herself throughout the contest. What a good boy/girl.

Knicks Take Down Lakers

Los Angeles, California, USA; Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James (6) looks down the court during the second quarter against the Denver Nuggets in game four of the Western Conference Finals for the 2023 NBA playoffs at Crypto.com Arena.

While most of the attention was on the dog, a game of basketball was still played that night.

Jalen Brunson led the charge for the Knicks with a team-high 29 points to lead New York to a 114-109 victory over LA. Julius Randle, a former Laker, chipped in with 27 points and 14 rebounds against his ex-team.

Anthony Davis’ game-high 32 points was wasted on a losing effort, and so was LeBron’s 25-point, 11-rebound, 11-assist triple-double.

Despite the captivating spectacle between two of the most high-profile teams in all of sports, however, the biggest headline is still the fact that a dog was literally seated courtside during the game. I mean, how often do you get to say that?
